Good news!  Our friends at ION Worship have picked up Open Up for Digital Sales.  I really love the work of all the ION artists.  Over the years they have been a major influence on my music and ministry.  In preparation for this latest album I was privileged to have the song Beautiful critiqued by Andy Park, Brian Doerksen, Michael Larson, Steve Mitchinson and others in a songwriter’s circle.  Andy of course was very involved in the album as he listened to and gave feedback on early versions of the songs, wrote Wonder Working God and he co-wrote and sang/played on We Bow Down.  If you want to download Open Up, head over to ION and support this great ministry.

In other news, Andy is in the studio again working on a new album.  I have been singing some backups and the album is sounding amazing.  Watch ION and Andy’s website in the coming months for his latest release.

Been taking it easy as far as gigs lately - been busy having our second son!!  Ezra Joseph Toon was born Nov 25th (my Grandpa Toon’s b-day!)  Everyone is doing great.  Rocky is especially excited to have a little brother.

I know there’s no way anyone was sick of seeing my son mixing with Steve Klassen, but I am sorry for not updating sooner. You can guess that I have been super busy getting the new album finished. I just finished listening through the MASTER and I must say it sounds better than I thought it would! That’s not to say that I expected any less from everyone involved, but let’s face it, they had to work with me!! I am so excited for you all to hear this new project. Sooooooo, in less than a month you will! Join us for the OPEN UP - CD RELEASE WEEKEND on June 28th and 29th at Mosaic, Surrey Alliance Church and Tenth Ave Church. More info on the Gigs page.

NEWS April 3rd, 2008

Greetings from the studio. Hard at work today are Brett Ziegler on keys and Steve Klassen at the helm. Keys, keys, and more keys. I am so happy with how this project is turning out. Many more talented people have joined us or will be joining us this week, including (in absolutely no particular order cause they all rock) Andy Park (voice, guitar and writing), Eran Vooys and Calum Rees on the their kits, Kathleen Nisbet (voice and fiddle), Chris Lemky (voice and guitar), Kenton “Kento” Wiens on the drums and cymbals, Lisa Toon on vocals and hopefully Julie Edgeley and a few others. Oh, and Phil Riley is siting beside me on the control room couch getting inspired to do our art. If you get a chance, please pray for us as we continue to finish things up. Steve will be mixing in the next week or so. Stay tuned for more fun to come. Check out this little video of Brett Ziegler laying down some sweet organ.

Stephen is presently in the studio with producer Steve Klassen, working on a new album of songs for worship. The record will include a new song by Andy Park called “Wonder Working God”, as well as a bunch of new originals by Stephen.
